UF PathLabs' Cytogenetics Division is dedicated to making superior clinical services available to patients with genetic and neoplastic diseases.
We proactively assist and counsel geneticists, pediatricians, hematologists, oncologists and surgeons in the care of their patients. Our staff is committed to contributing to the advancement of the field of cytogenetics and to the education of future health care professionals.
For more than four decades, our Cytogenetics Division has made a comprehensive assortment of clinical cytogenetic tests available, which include prenatal, postnatal and cancer diagnostic studies. In addition to conventional or classic chromosome studies (karyotyping), we also make molecular cytogenetic diagnostic studies by fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) methodologies available for both cancer and congenital applications, as well as comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) microarray studies for congenital applications.
