The major goals of UF PathLabs' Dermatopathology Division are to make superior services available to patients with skin, hair and nail diseases and to proactively support dermatologist, plastic surgeons and podiatrists in the care of their patients.
UF PathLabs is committed to actively contributing to the advancement of the field of dermatopathology and medicine, as well as the education of tomorrow's dermatologists, pathologists and dermatopathologists. We practice a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of skin, nail and hair disorders. In addition to our evaluation of conventional histology, we routinely utilize a host of specialized immunohistochemical, immunofluorescence and molecular techniques.
UF PathLabs dermatopathology activities include participating in academic instruction at the UF Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry, in addition to nurturing the education of UF dermatology and pathology residents. We also make opportunities for continuing medical education available for other clinicians.
We also make dermatopathology services available to UF physicians, Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, as well as physicians and patients throughout the state of Florida.
