UF Health Pathology Laboratories' Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology Division utilizes an array of immunohistochemical and special stains to precisely classify neoplasia and various inflammatory processes. An additional battery of stains are available for viral/microorganism identification. All biopsies are serially sectioned and reviewed with previous material to determine possible trends.

Diagnostic Reporting

UF Health Pathology Laboratories strives to be concise, direct and accurate in its diagnostic reporting. We adhere to a 48-hour turnaround time (or less) on most case diagnoses. As a courtesy to our clients, our pathologists will personally consult physicians via telephone on cases with positive or unexpected results. Additionally, all reports can be faxed and electronically reported via our PathLabs 24/7 pathology reporting service.
