Genitourinary Pathology

The Urologic Pathology Division at UF Health Pathology Laboratories is dedicated to making outstanding diagnostic services available to physicians and patients.

Our Urologic Pathology Division is staffed by pathologists with subspecialty expertise and passionate research interest in urologic pathology, which is reinforced daily by reviewing a high volume of clinical specimens. The Division's proficiency encompasses all areas of genitourinary pathology, including prostate, bladder and testis disorders, as well as neoplastic disorders of the kidneys.

We operate daily in a state-of-the-art immunohistochemical laboratory, performing an ever-expanding array of ancillary test methods. Our physician pathologists strive to meet the needs of physicians' and are readily available for consultations. We understand that our clients value timely results and discretion. That's why we contact all referring physicians immediately when unexpected or critical results are identified.

The Urologic Pathology Division's genitourinary pathology activities include:
  • Making comprehensive academic instruction for students of the University of Florida's Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry;
  • Directly participating in the education of UF pathology and urology residents, as well as continuing medical education for physicians; and
  • Making pathology services available to UF Health Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, as well as physicians and patients throughout the state of Florida.
