Gynecological Pathology

UF Health Pathology Laboratories' Gynecological Division makes superior services available to patients with benign and malignant disorders of the female reproductive system. Our gynecological pathologists proactively support Florida gynecologists, family physicians, surgeons, oncologists and other professional clinicians in the care of their patients.

We are committed to contributing to the advancement of the field of gynecologic pathology and are dedicated to the education of current and future pathologists and clinicians. We practice a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and consultation, and contribute to the clinical care and treatment of women and children. In addition to our evaluation of conventional histopathology, we perform state-of-the-art immunohistochemical, molecular and quantitative pathology services that can be brought to bear on complex legal cases when needed.

The Division's gynecological pathology activities include:
  • Making comprehensive academic instruction available for students of the University of Florida's Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry;
  • Actively participating in the education of UF gynecology and pathology residents, as well as contributing to the  continuing medical education of physicians; and
  • Making pathology services available to UF Health Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, as well as physicians and patients throughout the state of Florida.
