Hematopathology
The main objective of UF PathLabs' Hematopathology Division is to make superior clinical services available to patients with hematologic disorders or hematopoietic neoplasias and proactively support physicians in the care of their patients.
We are committed to actively contributing to the advancement of the field of hematopathology and educating tomorrow's physicians, pathologists, hematologists and oncologists, as well as physicians in other specialties. We practice a multidisciplinary approach, including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, cytogenetics and molecular techniques, to detect hematopoietic tumors and evaluate non-neoplastic hematological disorders.
All of UF PathLabs' required diagnostic technologies reside in a centralized location. Our leading-edge laboratory serves the needs of active pediatric and adult hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplantation services at Shands Hospital, and it is also a referral center for numerous hospitals and clinics throughout the southeastern United States.
