With more than 17 years of hands-on experience performing research, high-complexity molecular testing and clinical diagnostics, Kimberly Newsom, Ph.D. MB (ASCP)CM is the supervisor for the Molecular Laboratory at UF Health Pathology Laboratories. She is responsible for the oversight and quality assurance for oncology testing (NGS, BRAF, KRAS, EGFR, MSI, B-cell and T-cell clonality analyses); pharmacogenomics testing (CYP2C19 and TPMT); viral load testing (HIV, HCV and HBV); and gynecological testing (CT/NG and HPV).

Dr. Newsom earned her doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2007.
