Use:

  • Diagnosis of Autoimmune Addison Disease: Adrenal autoantibodies detected in the presence of biochemically defined primary adrenal insufficiency (i.e., deficiency of cortisol and aldosterone) identify an autoimmune etiology as the cause of the subject’s primary adrenal insufficiency (aka Addison disease of autoimmune etiology).
  • Prediction of Autoimmune Addison Disease: Adrenal autoantibodies detected in an asymptomatic individual indicates an increased risk for the subsequent development of primary adrenal insufficiency of autoimmune etiology.
