Use: 

This test should be used only for the surveillance of residual or recurrent differentiated thyroid cancer. Both thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyroglobulin autoantibodies (TGA;or antithyroglobulin autoantibodies) are reported in the results for this test.

Note: When ordering this test, there is no need to order a separate test for thyroglobulin autoantibodies (TGA).

Specimen Requirements: 
Collect at least 0.3 mL of serum in a gold-top/serum-separating tube (SST).
 

Collect peripheral blood in a gold-top/serum-separating tube (SST). Provide at least 0.3 of serum for testing.

Keep the serum frozen and avoid hemolysis.
  • For specimen storage < 3 days: Store at 2 - 8° C
  • For specimen storage < 2 months: Store at -20° C
