4 Plex FLUVID Updates

Please note, effective July 18th, 2024, the Orange Hologic Aptima Multitest Swab will no longer be an acceptable
sample type
for COVID-19, FLU and RSV testing.


This affects the following orderables:
SARS-CoV-2, NAA • LAB17010
Covid-19 Plus Flu A/B/RSV LAB17011


Viral Transport Media (VTM) and Universal Transport Media (UTM) will continue to be the preferred specimen
type.
Nasopharyngeal specimens collected with the new Hologic RespDirect Collection Kit (pictured below) will also
be acceptable.


The new Hologic RespDirect Collection Kits can be obtained by contacting UF Health Pathology Laboratory directly at

These changes will allow us to continue providing the exceptional testing services you have come to expect. Please
ensure that your practice is prepared to collect acceptable specimen types to avoid delays in testing or rejected
