Specimen Requirements:


Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block, or at least 6 unstained slides 4 µM (± 1 µM).
Storage/Transport Temperature: Submit specimens according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.
Unacceptable Conditions:

Frozen specimens. At this time, cytology specimens sent to our laboratory should not have been fixed in alcohol (e.g. CytoLyt) before the formalin fixation and paraffin embedding.

Use:


HPV High Risk in situ hybridization (ISH) assay is intended to identify the presence of transcriptionally active mRNA E6/E7 from High-Risk types of Human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) in routinely processed tissue sections using RNA probes. The probe cocktail targets the presence of HPV 16,18,26,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,53,56,58,59,66,68,73 and 82, E6/E7 mRNA.
